The Pressure To Be Perfect
Why perfection is a myth — and progress is what really matters.
We all feel it.
This invisible pressure to be perfect.
To do everything right.
To not make mistakes.
To always perform like we’re being watched.
Even I used to think I could be perfect in everything.
Coding, writing, designing, editing…
I thought if I tried hard enough, I could become perfect everywhere.
But by time, I realised one thing:
Perfection is a myth.
Society, social media, the people around us
they make this word feel so powerful, so big, almost like a trophy.
When people want to dominate something or be the best,
they start chasing perfection.
Like it’s the only way to succeed.
But ask yourself…
Why do we need to act perfect?
Why do we expect perfect results every time?
Why do we think “perfect” is the only definition of success?
The answer is simple:
We don’t.
I’m not saying don’t try.
I’m not saying don’t improve.
I’m not saying ignore quality or be careless.
I’m just saying:
you don’t have to be perfect to be worth something.
You can try.
You can learn.
You can grow.
You can fail.
You can rise again.
Not being perfect doesn’t mean you will never be great.
You can’t be perfect but you can try.
And trying is what makes you better.
Because:
“A person who never tries to be perfect can never reach their best.”
Perfection is not a title you earn.
It’s not a finish line you cross.
It’s not a crown someone gives you.
Perfection is a state.
A journey.
A lifestyle.
It’s the process of becoming better not being flawless.
You will make mistakes.
You will fall.
You will take wrong decisions.
You will learn.
And that’s okay.
That’s human.
Stop chasing perfection.
Start chasing progress.
Because the truth is…
Perfect is not real.
Progress is.
